Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 July 2026
PlanItNine is operated by OVS Group LLC. This policy covers the marketing site at planitnine.com and the app at app.planitnine.com.
The short version: we store the account details and task content you give us, we use Google Analytics to see which features get used, and we don't sell your data to anyone. Questions go to support@planitnine.com.
What we collect
Account information
- Your email address and display name — typed at sign-up, or taken from your Google account if you sign in with Google.
- Your time zone, detected from your browser so scheduled emails arrive at the right local time.
- Account timestamps: when you signed up and when you last signed in.
- Where you came from: if you arrived via a campaign link, the
utm_*parameters, the referring site and the landing page are stored once on your profile.
Your content
Everything you create in the app: tasks, lists, goals, daily notes, tags, due dates, time-tracking entries and the ratings you give tasks. We store it so we can show it back to you. We do not read it, mine it, or use it to train anything.
Billing
Subscriptions are handled by PayPal. Payment happens inside PayPal's own checkout — we never see or store your card details. We keep the PayPal subscription ID and your plan status so we know what you're entitled to.
Technical
If the app hits an error, we log the error message, the page you were on, your browser user-agent and your account identifier so we can fix it. Our hosting providers process your IP address to deliver the service, as any web host does.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which features people use. We do not send your name, email or task content to Google.
We use Google Consent Mode. If you're in the UK, EU/EEA or Switzerland, analytics cookies are switched off before the page loads and stay off — Google determines your region and we receive only aggregate, cookieless measurement. Everywhere else, analytics is on by default and you can turn it off below or in the app under Account → Privacy.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells returning visits apart | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps session state | 2 years |
p9_analytics_optout | PlanItNine | Remembers that you opted out | 1 year |
p9_cookie_notice | PlanItNine | Remembers you dismissed the cookie bar | 1 year |
Our own two cookies are strictly necessary — they exist only to record your privacy choice, and they're what stops the bar reappearing on every page. If you opt out, we also delete any Google Analytics cookies already on your device.
The site also uses your browser's local storage to remember which campaign link brought
you here (pin_site_attribution) and to hold app preferences such as your theme.
Turn analytics off
This setting applies to both planitnine.com and app.planitnine.com.
You can also use your browser's Do Not Track or cookie controls, or Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Who else sees your data
We don't sell your data and we don't share it for advertising. We use these providers to run the service:
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase) | Sign-in, database, hosting, server functions | Your account details and all your content |
| Google Analytics | Usage measurement | Pages viewed and feature events — no name, email or task content |
| PayPal | Subscription payments | Whatever you enter in PayPal's checkout, plus your account identifier |
| Brevo | Sends our emails | Recipient address and the email contents, which include task titles and list names |
Other people
Some features deliberately show your data to others — that's the point of them:
- Shared lists and teams: members can see the list's tasks and each other's email addresses.
- Assigning a task: the assignee's name and email are stored on that task.
- Guest task links: these open without a login. Anyone who has the link can see that task's title and notes and mark it done, until the link expires. Only send them to people you trust.
Emails we send
We send transactional email only — welcome messages, task and team invitations, the daily or weekly digests you switch on, and billing notices. We do not send marketing newsletters. You control digests in the app under Account → Emails.
Your choices
- See and correct your data: your profile and content are editable in the app at any time.
- Export: export tasks and reports as HTML, Markdown, CSV or PDF from the app.
- Opt out of analytics: use the button above, or Account → Privacy.
- Close your account: email support@planitnine.com. We'll close your account and delete your profile, your lists, and the tasks and notes in them. Some records that involve other people — team invitations and activity history, for example — may be kept. If there's something specific you want removed, tell us and we'll take care of it.
Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing, request a copy of your data, or complain to your data protection authority. Email us and we'll help.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to close it we delete your profile, lists and tasks, as described under Your choices above. Deleted tasks sit in a recycle state for 7 days so you can undo, then go.
Children
PlanItNine isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app.
